This makes it now possible to cause breakage due to prolonged smaller impacts over time. In this manner, prior sustained damage is accumulated and subsequent impact joules are added to the affected car parts. - Bending and breaking now occur when the energy associated with the impact exceeds the yield and break limits set in joules.
